Bengal Tigers defeats Punjab De Sher on 6th Feb, 2016 at Chandigarh and we’re through to semi finals.

Bengal Tigers had won the toss and chose to bat first in the innings held on 6th Feb, 2016 at Chandigarh. The tigers were off to a good start and it was a nice beginning where they were 24/0 in 3 overs. Bengal Tigers were 144/3 at the end of 15 overs. Yusuf and Sengupta had strucked a cord and were batting well in tandem. Bengal Tigers were hoping to go past 190 which would be a good score.

It was a tough time for Punjab De Shers because the partnership between both of them had been really very strong and both were not out till the end. Both of them played really very well and the final score was 224/3 in 20 overs. It was a good target set by the Tigers which got the game turned on by their side.

2nd Innings:

Bengal Tigers  draw first blood at the end of 5 overs and the score of Punjab De Sher was 43/1. After 7.2 overs, the Tigers trapped the 2nd wicket. Punjab de Sher had lost the wickets of Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai. They were tottering on 144 for the loss of four wickets at the end of 16.3 overs (144/4). They needed a mammoth 81 runs from just 21 balls which was virtually impossible to achieve! At the end of 20 overs, the score was 199/5 and they lost the match by 26 runs.

Brilliant innings was played by Yusuf. He smashed a quick unbeaten hundred. He hit nine boundaries and seven sixes in his innings. Jisshu Sengupta was also not-out till the very end.

Bengal Tigers has given a strong performance in this event. The upcoming match holds do or die situation for this team. If Tigers lost this match they will be eliminated from this tournament.
